I was fortunate enough a few weeks ago to be allowed track access to shoot the outdoor national held at Hangtown just north of Sacramento. I had a huge detour to navigate that added almost forty minutes to my drive. I got there with about twenty minutes to go until scheduled practice was to start. The event was huge by cycling standards. In all they estimated that the spectators were close to thirty thousand at the venue. In years past it has been closer to fifty.
