For the new generation of the CAPRA we have fine-tuned our much-acclaimed Virtual 4 Link suspension system even further. We adopt the downhill principle due to the low transmission and thus create the characteristics of V4L: an off-the-top sensitivity, even more ample mid-stroke support than before and a progressive ending stroke. 

V4L not only gives you the confidence to hit big gaps and rugged terrain at speed, it also makes pedalling super-efficient. Additionally we have optimized the kinematics to further reduce the influence of pedalling forces. Our focus in the development process has always been to create the perfect weight distribution and optimum rider position. So for 2018, YT Tailor Made is taking things a step further.
Throughout all CAPRA bikes sizes we offer a low seatpost height in combination with seatposts, that are specifically matched to each of the bike sizes. Therefore riders can now choose between 2 to a maximum of 3 different frame sizes for their body height. Whether you prefer a moderate or long reach - you now have true freedom of choice. It's like your frame has been tailormade for you. By opting for the longer reach, experienced riders can adjust the weight distribution more precisely while the standard reach will give you a bike with a little more pop out of corners.

The seat angle of the new CAPRA is perfectly adjusted to a well-balanced pedaling position, allowing for maximum riding efficiency and pedaling prowess. The slack headtube angle and short chainstays, which again are adapted for each frame size, deliver the most advanced combination of trail bike agility and traction at downhill standard.

The carbon version of this enduro legend is available with three different builds for 2017: CF Pro Race, CF Pro, and CF. The CF Pro Race is the flagship offering of the enduro range, once again ready to go into battle sporting Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension components. All new for 2017 are the e*thirteen carbon wheels on the CF Pro Race, as well as the Race Face and e*thirteen dropper posts that appear for the first time on the CF Pro and CF models. Those who prefer aluminum will find what they seek with the AL Comp or the AL. Both aluminum models come equipped with RockShox suspension components: the highly acclaimed Lyrik fork pairs up nicely with the Monarch+ RC3 and Monarch+ R, respectively. For ultimate shifting performance, all CAPRA models run SRAM 1x11 drivetrains this year.

Aaron Gwin successfully proved last year that the TUES is not only a World Cup worthy downhill bike, but that it has the pedigree to claim the top spot of the podium. Reason enough for us to build a CF Pro Race version! FOX’s 40 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock deliver World Cup vibes in the suspension department. Freshly introduced to the downhill game by Gwin himself, the TRP Quadiem G-Spec brakes are on stopper duty for the first time this year. Carbon wheels and cranks from e*thirteen and the carbon handlebar from Renthal help keep the weight down and the reliability high – just as you would expect on a purebred race machine.

YT Industries Releases The Capra AL1 In Extra Large

YT’s Capra dropped like a highly acclaimed bomb in the mountain bike community last year, and the engineers of the Forchheim manufacturer have now added a much sought-after XL size to the Capra AL1 – for all the larger-than-life shredders out there! If like YT athlete and Red Bull Rampage hero Kelly McGarry you are not of average size, but rather tend to rise a bit above it all, it is often hard to fully enjoy your riding with regular sized frames. And even YT’s all-rounder Capra is more difficult to pilot properly if your body size does not match the frame’s geometry and dimensions. It is good news then that YT now comes to rescue of all the biking giants out there with the forthcoming release of the Capra AL1 in XL.
 
Available for sale immediately and deliverable in December, the XL Capra AL1 shares the spec of its smaller brothers (see the specifications and geo tables below). As for the Capra AL2, it will likely only be available in XL as of 2016.
 
Aside from the larger frame size, the XL Capra AL1 delivers all the characteristics of YT’s flagship enduro bike: robustness, fun-oriented geometry, and well-rounded capabilities that make it as suitable for long trail rides as it is for bike park airtime missions.
