Andrew Taylor – Emerging from the hotbed of California’s Mountain Bike scene | Hometown Crusher Ep3

In this 3rd instalment of Hometown Crusher, we head over to Santa Rosa, California to meet Andrew Taylor, a professional freeride mountain biker and hear about how his mountain biking journey began.

Growing up in Santa Rosa gave Andrew plenty of opportunities to get out on his bike. Whether it's was at Santa Rosa Skate Park, which is full of bowls and natural gaps or the dirt jumps hidden behind the park.

Of course we are not forgetting the Annadel State Park, widely known for its sick trails.
But no town with such a passion for mountain biking would be complete without someone’s back (and front) yard being converted into one of the coolest pump tracks ever!

Back down in Santa Cruz, where Andrew currently lives, we sit down with two other biking legends, Ryan Nyquist and Greg Watts to hear why they think the MTB scene in Santa Cruz is so good right now. With such a high level of riders all in one location, pushing themselves and each other there is nothing to do but get good at riding!

Don’t forget to enter our competition to WIN YOUR VERY OWN PROFESSIONAL SHOOT!

As part of this series we are giving you a chance to star in your very own Hometown Crusher episode while kitted out in the latest adidas Outdoor and Five Ten product.

Just upload 5 photos of you doing the sport you love to the Hometown Crusher Facebook page for your chance to win this once in a lifetime prize. Full info at facebook.com/hometowncrusher

In the Know - Ryan Howard

You might be surprised to know that the rider who has become synonymous with stylish whips made his first-ever trip to Whistler to play hockey. That’s right, recent winner of the Oceana Whip-Off Championships at Crankworx Rotorua, Ryan Howard, wasn’t always the master of two wheels we now know as “R-Dog.” Lucky for us, though, R-Dog found mountain bikes, the Aptos Post Office jumps (RIP) and the incredible trails of Santa Cruz County, California. Just try to be uninspired by this edit of R-Dog shredding a bit of his home loam.
