Bulldog and Blinky Ride Te Ranga

Rainbow Mountain, meaning ‘mountain of coloured earth’ is the home of the Te Ranga Mountain Bike Track in Rotorua, New Zealand. A volcanic past and 360 degree picturesque views, it’s also one of the many incredible trails that are managed by the Department of Conservation.

In this clip, Brook ‘The Bulldog’ MacDonald and fellow New Zealand downhill rider and friend, Sam ‘Blinky’ Blenkinsop, take us for a ride down the beautiful Te Ranga Mountain Bike track, where native vegetation is slowly regenerating and the views downhill, are just as amazing as at the peak.

Episode 2.6 of Trek World Racing's STORIES

Episode 2.6 takes place at the 26th UCI Mountain Bike Championships held for the first time in Andorra, in the Vallnord region. Watch as Laurie Greenland caps off a brilliant 2 years on the team by winning the World Championships, the 4th World Title won by the team since 2009. Brook and George battle the steep track showing good speed in the first 2 sectors of the track but come undone in the last sector. The World Champs are a one-run-race-to-glory format and it’s a battle of nerves even for the most seasoned riders on the circuit.

Trek World Racing Stories 2.3 // Lenzerheide 2015 // Downhill World Cup

The Swiss Alps offered up the new “classic” track at Lenzerheide, coupling steep technical and high speed, with dust and heat. The Trek World Racing riders had a solid outing with Laurie Greenland picking up his first ever World Cup win, and Brook MacDonald backing up his top 10 result in Leogang with another top 10. George and Greg were less lucky with the track giving them something to remember for next year. George crashed in his race run but showed his speed by matching race winner Greg Minnaar in the middle sector. Greg Williamson salvaged some points and improved his overall position after crashing earlier in practice and damaging his shoulder.

Trek World Racing Stories 2.2 Fort William & Leogang 2015

A busy couple of weeks for the Trek World Racing riders with back to back racing at World Cup Round 2 in Fort William (SCO) and Round 3 in Leogang (AUT). Fort William presented major challenges for all teams and riders with the first ever complete cancellation of a Saturday schedule due to high winds affecting the gondola. Freezing cold in Scotland, tropical in Austria, yet the team scored two Elite top 10’s and Laurie took two podiums and wore the Leader’s Jersey in the Junior World Cup.
