DVO Welcomes its Newest Member of the Team

Valencia, Ca 01/21/2013 DVO Suspension is pleased to announce Troy Jungheim as the latest addition to the DVO crew. He will be responsible for European sales of Aftermarket and OE as well as event support across Europe. With 20+ years of industry experience Troy will add some Euro flavour to the DVO team.

Troy was born in the USA but spent his first 17 years travelling through Europe with his family and has learned to adapt to many different cultures and challenges. During the younger years he raced BMX for Kuwahara and Mongoose so bikes have always been in his blood. At 18 he joined the military and served in Desert Storm as well as drug enforcement Ops in S. America. In 1992 he got back into the bike scene pretty heavy in So Cal and worked his way up from shop floor to become a top notch sales person. His first Industry job gave him the motivation to learn every aspect of the business. He has held positions in Big Brand named companies like Bell Helmets, Marin Bikes, Fox clothing, Ritchey, Syncros, 661, Sunline and Royal clothing handling outside sales, inside sales, sales manager, marketing, warranty tech, and event coordinator. Good with a wrench and he knows how to huck it. In 1999 an opportunity came about to take him back to Europe where he felt most at home and he has been there ever since. In his time travelling he has been to 57 different countries and speaks multiple languages. This has given him a unique outlook and allowed him to really get to know the different markets in Europe. Still just as passionate about bikes as the first days of riding he spends his rideable season shredding some of the best trails in Europe.

Troy will add a presence to the DVO team that you could not get unless you live the life of a nomad. Communication and customer service are key elements in being on the front line to launch the DVO brand across Europe.

“I am very happy to join such a solid crew of industry veterans. It will be a pleasure working with likeminded people who know a thing or two about bikes! My first few days after joining the DVO team I knew I felt right at home. I have a great deal that I can learn from them all and I hope that I can teach them a thing or two that I have learned along my journey in this amazing industry. I live for biking and like nothing more than a sweet 45 minute descent in the Alpes with a super tuned machine. DVO is my calling and I am very proud to be part of the team.”….Troy Jungheim

Silverfish To Distribute DVO Suspension

DVO, which stands for Developed Suspension, may be a new name on the circuit, but with over 80 years of suspension manufacturing experience they are a brand already head and shoulders above the competition.

Formed with a desire to do things a little differently, Bryson Martin and his team of engineers and racers aim to put quality, detail and customer service first and foremost, and to deliver superior suspension products to the market. All of the team at DVO bring with them years of suspension and production experience and knowledge, and between them they have masterminded and been responsible for some of the most iconic mountain bike suspension forks ever produced.

The first product to be released by the company will be the much anticipated Emerald DH fork which is currently in the testing lab and will be the first inverted DH fork to hit the race track for a number of years.

“DVO Suspension is very excited to be working with one of the UK's best distributors, Silverfish. Their passion for the sport equals our own and we could tell from our first meeting that these guys were a perfect fit for DVO in the UK” said DVO’s General Manager John Pelino who himself joins DVO with over 16 years of suspension fork production experience and is a key member of the team who will launch their first forks midway through next season.

We are very pleased to be working with the team at DVO and to be bringing their products to UK riders. The experience, passion for the sport, and depth of knowledge within the company is mind blowing and we cannot wait to work with these guys” said Silverfish UK Marketing Manager Pete Drew.

DVO Suspension Website Is Live

DVO is short for “Developed” and DVO is a new suspension company with over 80 years of suspension building, tuning, designing, and riding experience.

Bryson Martin, founder and inspiration behind DVO Suspension, has spent his entire professional life, or more than 30 years, working in the bike business. During most of this time, he was an integral driver at Marzocchi Suspension, where Bryson was responsible for many groundbreaking ideas including its legendary Bomber Line. In 2012, Bryson wanted to take this experience to the next level to form a suspension program purely focused on performance and first-rate customer service. Thus DVO Suspension was created.

Bryson began mountain bike riding and racing in the late 1970s, also working in a few bike shops during high school and college. After graduating in the mid 1980s, he joined a small California-based mountain bike company called Brave Cycles. There he raced, managed product and marketing, collaborated on the company’s corporate design campaigns, and learned the ins-and-outs of what it took to compete in the fast-growing mountain bike arena.

Racing a lot of motocross as a kid, Bryson always believed that riders needed suspension on their fully rigid mountain bikes – after all, we’re riding and racing on the same dirt surface as do motorcycles. So why couldn’t riders enjoy suspension on their bikes, too? This idea led to attempts at making his own suspension forks, finally connecting with Marzocchi Suspension in 1989. This decision arose out of familiarity, as many of his motocross bikes came with Marzocchi. Why not give them a try for bicycle suspension?

It wasn’t easy initially, with mountain biking an American sport and invented in America. This European company had more going against it in every way, while Rock Shox and Manitou gained a solid foothold in the burgeoning bicycle suspension business. Nevertheless, following a few decades at Marzocchi – where Bryson handled everything from warranty work to World Cup racing, marketing, global sales, and product innovation – he’d garnered all of the learning and proficiency required to launch his own suspension program: DVO.
